Vince Brown, JD
Vince Brown was appointed as the Director of the Institute of Politics in May, 2020 and is an adjunct professor in Political Science at DSU.
Prior to his tenure at DSU, Vince obtained his Honors Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah. Vince went on to work for a Utah Governor and United States Senator in Washington, DC.
Vince then obtained his law degree from Cornell Law School, and worked for the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy and the Cornell Legal Information Institute. At Cornell, he re-founded the Cornell Federalist Society and served as its President for two years.
Following law school, Vince moved to California and worked as a litigation attorney for two global law firms, where he specialized in business and securities litigation. While in California, he served for ten years as an Administrative Law Judge for the County of San Diego and owned a locally sourced organic market and restaurant.
In addition to his work at DSU, Vince has a mediation business in Saint George, where he and his wife, Kathryn, currently reside with their children.
Caelan Williams is the Student Director at the Institute. He is a Junior, majoring in Marketing. He is from St. George, Utah. He thoroughly enjoys physical activity and playing with Legos. Caelan enjoys working with the Institute team in creating and running events that appeal to the students of Dixie State University.
Hi my name is Hannah Shea and I am the Event Coordinator for the Institute of Politics. This is my second year attending Dixie State where I am working towards my Nursing Degree. In my free time I enjoy going on hikes and watching movies. I am very excited to partake in the institution this year!
I am native to St George and have lived here my whole life. I played 5 sports in high school and was on the student government at Dixie high school. I am studying to get a business major at Dixie State. I enjoy athletics and spending time with family.
Guillem Parra Bazán
Guillem Parra Bazán serves as the Director of Marketing at the Dixie State Institute of Politics and Public Affairs.
Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, his experience in the marketing world is extensive at such a young age. After attending film school for two years, he co-founded and ran Exon Digital Media, a full-sized digital marketing agency startup in Spain.
After making the decision to cross the Atlantic to study Finance at DSU. He was appointed the Marketing Manager and Vice President of Marketing at DSUSA. Leading a team to create some of the most memorable campaigns that the student association has ever seen.
He currently works at Red Digital Marketing Group. A modern-day marketing agency that focuses on growing business through cutting-edge marketing and lead generation techniques.
Guillem loves to travel, get to know new people all over the world, and has a passion for curiosity, discovering new things, and launching any type of business and professional projects.
Caden S. Butterfield
Caden S. Butterfield is a Junior majoring in Finance at Dixie State University. He currently serves as the Event Coordinator for DSU’s Institute of Government and Politics. Caden’s first major political exposure came as an intern working for Senator Mitt Romney, in his Washington, D.C. office during the Spring 2020 semester. This experience gave him a desire to get more involved with the political scene at Dixie State, and to help serve, lift, and inspire the campus community.
Outside of a busy school and work schedule, Caden’s passions include travel, fitness, reading, culinary pursuits, good (and often dry) humor, and spending time with those he loves most. He is excited for the upcoming year at Dixie State, and to work in this new capacity with the Institute of Government and Politics!
